I caught up with
radiationqueen today and we saw 'The Holiday'. Kate Winslet does not make a bad film. Name one if you can. I really enjoyed it. It was more romantic than comedy, but that was okay. Kate was sympathetic and endearing and for the first time in ages I did that thing where something's happening on screen and you're so wrapped up in it that in your head (or out loud, depending on how annoying you are at the cinema) you're going "DON'T DO IT! NO! BAD BAD BAD!" because she's failing to hook up with the right guy. Jack Black kind of played the same character with fewer eccentricities, but was appealing enough. Cameron Diaz was a little spazzy at the beginning, but her character had my Ultimate Dream Job, so it was forgivable. And Jude Law wears these really goofy glasses. My only criticism is that I'm pretty certain Cameron/Jude got more screen time than Kate/Jack.
In conclusion, good times; very recommended.
