I just got back from the video store, where I spent an HOUR finding scary movies for the MONSTER HALLOWEEN MOVIE MARATHON I'm holding next Tuesday. I was working with the theory that I would get one from each 'scary' subgenre - vampire, zombie, serial killer, demonic, ghost, witchcraft, werewolf, aliens, etc. I only rented seven six, but I'm still not quite sure of my movie choices:

1. The Craft (witchcraft)
2. The Faculty (alien)
3. Psycho (serial killer)
4. The Omen (demonic)
5. Poltergeist (ghost)
6. The Haunting (ghost/demonic)
7. Kill Bill 2 (what? I've never seen it and they NEVER have it available at the store, I had to seize the opportunity!)
I already own Van Helsing (vampire, werewolf AND zombie), and ___pony is going to bring Shaun of the Dead (zombie). It still feels like there's something missing. I'm going to go to the OTHER store soon and see if they have Bram Stoker's Dracula (the one with Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves doing pathetic English accents. AND!!! Gary Oldman, baby!) and some other things.
ETA: 0WND! The Glenferrie store had a huge wall of Ex-Rental VHS movies for $3 each. It took me fifteen minutes of scanning up one shelf and down another, but I managed to get DRACULA and SCREAM for only $6, mine to keep forever!!! (I also got You've Got Mail and Immortal Beloved because they didn't eftpos under $10 and I didn't have any cash).

SO! That makes the list:

1. The Craft
2. The Faculty
3. The Omen
4. The Poltergeist
5. The Haunting
6. Psycho
7. Dracula
8. Scream
9. Shaun of the Dead
10. Van Helsing]
and any others people may bring. This is going to be good, folks. I have high expectations.

outlandish ideas, movies, ramblings
