Oh dear God, I'm starting to get essays back. I've decided that my results for this semester will make or break my major (as in whichever period of history I get better marks in will be the focus of my history major). Here's hoping that Medieval/Early Modern can beat out the so-far rather pitiful Twentieth Century.
In other news, Superman Returns opens tomorrow and since nobody else was willing, I'm going to see it with my rather ambivalent father. It's just the two of us here at the moment, since my mother has gone up north to help my grandfather look after my grandmother (and vice versa since he has prostate cancer and she has a sceptic kneecap). The opening of the film will be a sad occasion, as it means another of my long-standing posters will be removed from the newly re-established Anticipation Wall (the last was X-3). I remember putting them up in February and moaning the complete lack of good films until the mid-year. Where have all the last few months gone? That semester finished in a heartbeat (a mercilessly kidney stone free heartbeat though! WOO!)! Does this mean I'm getting old, that I've started whining about how 'time flies'? Ew.
Anyway, I meant to join the legions and protest the new IR laws today (9.15, seventh step!), but I woke up when the protest began and there was no way I was going to drag myself into the city within half an hour. In the battle between social conscience and laziness, laziness will always win out in my case. Sorry to all those who were expecting me! In my defence, I was up late driving to the airport and watching Ghost Whisperer and the end of Dogma.
