This past weekend was a little bit worrying. My youngest sister went to the hospital on Thursday because she was having problems breathing. Apparently she was only getting 15% of the oxygen she was supposed to be getting. Well the doctor gave her some medication, which made her feel better and a prescription. Unfortunately she couldn't get the prescription filled because she didn't have the money to do so (she needed $100). As a result, I had to go to the bank Friday and transfer some money to her account. Anyway, she got sent home Thursday night, but she woke up Friday morning having problems breathing again, so she ended up going back to the hospital with the end result of them admitting her. I'm not sure but I think on Thursday they almost admitted her into Critical Care because of her breathing problem, but I guess the meds they gave her stopped that from happening.
She phoned earlier today... er... yesterday (Sunday) to say that she'd been released. She sounded pretty good. Apparently she has chronic bronchitis and asthma. Hopefully she'll quit smoking now, because it definitely isn't helping. I mean this is the second time she's been admitted to hospital because of breathing problems. Last time was two or three years ago, a few months after she had her son. She was there for nearly a week.
Ah well. At least she seems better now. But her and her boyfriend are definitely having medical problems. I mean he hasn't been able to work for the last few months because he's been having heart problems and he's only a couple of years over 25. It wouldn't be so bad if he had a desk job, but he's a truck driver, and the heart problems have resulted in him passing out several times. Hopefully it'll just turn out to be something that can be treated with medication, but he still has a doctor's appointment or two before he knows for sure.
Here's hoping for good news. *crosses fingers*
