Rach thank you again. This chapter is a little borring but I promise to you that next one will be better. Callie's parents will come
CHAPTER 3
After Cristina left, Callie moved closer to Erica and wrapped her hands around her waist.
“What?” Erica asked seeing Callies’ grin.
“Cristina said that you have a brain tumor.”
“What?”
“You’ve been nice to her.” She laughed.
“Shit!” Erica said quietly.
“Shit what?”
“I forgot to tell her that I would stab her if she repeated it to anyone...”
Callie laughed again and they walked into the living room. Magie was sleeping on the sofa so they went to the kitchen.
“How is she?” Erica asked taking some spaghetti that Callie had made earlier. “Did you both talk?”
Callie sat next to the blond. “Yes. Erica this is some kind of nightmare. She told me just a little part of it. And I know that she wanted to spare me the details. I can tell you the soft version. Real hard core is still there.” She pointed at the living room.
“You know that she can stay as long as she wants to.” It was a statement not a question.
“Thank you.” She smiled and kissed Erica’s cheek.
“Callie?” Erica said softly.
“Yes?”
“Have you called your parents? They should know what happened.”
“Jesus! I’ve totally forgot about them.” She gasped.
“Call and ask them to come here.” Callie looked at her for a moment. “Alright now I’m really starting to GET worried.”
“About what?”
“Tomorrow we’re going to take you for an MRI.”
“Why?” Erica dropped her fork.
“What’s going on with you? You are. I don’t know, nice?” She asked suspiciously.
“No.” Erica replied quickly. “I’m normal.” She blushed.
Callie just laughed. “Erica Hahn! You’ve been officially appeased by Callie Torres!”
“Ha ha! You think you are so cool?”
“Yes! You know I am. Don’t deny it.” She said proudly.
“Hmm… so you better start to think about what you will say to your parents when they ask you why you’re living with me!” Erica had a huge smile on her face.
As Callie left the kitchen she muttered under her nose. “Shit!” Erica laughed at her. Maybe she really had been softened by Callie. But it was only in her private life. Professional Erica Hahn was still cold and she would always keep distance with her co-workers… Except her speech to Yang. “Shit!” she muttered under her breath.
Next day Callie woke up early to make breakfast. She took the tray with some tea and toasts and went to the living room.
“Hey!” She gave Magie a mug and sat near to her. “Hope you still like tea.”
“Oh God! Thank you.” She smiled gently.
“I thought that we could make one call before I go to work.” Callie took the phone which was near the sofa.
“Call?” the Redhead asked and pulled her blanket tighter around herself.
“Yeah. We need to tell my parents.” Callie looked at her friend. Magie just nodded and Callie dialed the number.
“Mom?” she sat more comfortably. “Yes mom I’m also happy to hear you. Listen is papa around?” She looked at Magie and rolled her eyes. “Hi dad. Listen I’m gonna put you both on the speaker, alright?” She pushed the button on the phone.
“Listen. I have someone who would like to say hello to both of you.” Callie signed to Magie.
“Hello Mrs. Torres. Mr. Torres. I am happy to talk to you again.”
They were waiting for a couple of seconds and finally Callie asked.
“Mom? Are you still there?” They could hear her parents whispering.
“Magie is that you?” Mrs. Torres said almost crying.
“Yes it’s me. It’s good to hear you Mrs. Torres.” She smiled.
They had to wait again in silence.
“Magie darling. I am so happy that you’re alright.” Callies father said finally. “Please forgive my wife but I think she’s in shock right now.”
“I understand.”
“Dad?” Callie looked at her watch. “I have to go to work in a minute, but I want to ask you if you would like to come to Seattle?”
“That would be great honey. I’m sorry girls but I have to go and check on Athena. I think she just fainted.” And he hung up.
Callie stood up and took her jacket. “Listen I have surgeries all day, but Erica’s at home today. I talked to her yesterday and she’s taking you to do some shopping wherever you want to go. You just have to say.”
“Callie… we… I can’t control her like that.”
Callie rolled her eyes. “Mags I am begging you! You don’t have to worry about money.”
“I’ll be fine. Really. Just tell me where City Hall is. I have to go there and register.”
“Erica will drive you. I have to go.” She hugged her friend and left for work.
An hour later when Erica woke up she took a shower and came down to the kitchen she met Magie there.
“Morning.” Erica said with her sleepy voice.
“Good morning.” Magie stood up from her chair.
“You don’t have to stand up.” She laughed a little. “We didn’t have chance to meet. Erica Hahn.”
“Magie Williams.” They shook hands.
“You want breakfast?”
“No thank you.”
“You should eat.”
“ I know but I just can’t.”
Erica took her coffee and sat down. “I’ll drink my coffee and we can go shopping. You need some clothes. And you probably need to register or something.”
Magie just nodded and blushed.
“Come on I’ll give you some clothes. You can’t wear this all the time.”
“Eeee…” Magie was looking at the floor.
Erica looked at her worried. “Everything alright?”
“Thank you but there’s no need.”
“Ok. Give me 10 minutes and I’ll be ready to go.”
“How’s your friend?” Mark asked her joining her in the cafeteria.
“Not so well but Erica is taking her to do some shopping.”
“What?” Mark was surprised.
“Stop it!” Callie cut him with anger. “She is a very good person.”
“Yeah keep repeating that to yourself. Wait I need to tell this to Yang.” He turned around to spot Cristina at another table. “YANG! COME HERE FOR A MOMENT.” He yelled.
Callie rolled her eyes. “You are an ass you know?!”
He laughed and turned to Cristina who had just showed up. “Yang! Prepare a room for Torres. This living together with Hahn is harmful for her.”
“Are you coming back?” Cristina said with a happy grin.
“No!”
“You want to know what she’s done? She has left her friend alone with Hahn for the whole day.” He turned to Callie. “After all the things that she went through?” He looked at Cristina to find approval, but she was standing there and looking at him shocked.
“Yang! What is wrong with you? Have you heard what I just said?”
“Yeah I heard. I just don’t know why it is so strange to you? Dr Hahn…” She swallowed loudly. “Is a very good person Dr Sloan.” And with that she went back to her table leaving Mark with a stupid look on his face.
Callie just laughed at him and went to prepare for her surgery.
