Intermediary periods are kinda boring but full of STUFF

After editing broadcast copy all this week, I've started to unconsciously use AP style even when I don't need it. I'll write HTP "H-T-P," and 200,000 "two-hundred-thousand." And I've become tempted to start placing "But" and "And" at the beginning of sentences. NO MORE. This weekend will help me return to the realities of normal written language!

For instance, I'm ready for a party (less about language, more about slurring?). The Brandeis committee of shadowy figures has accepted me back into the fold! I want to reward myself this weekend. I've worked so fucking hard this year, and making the Dean's List at UNT proves it. Given where I was last year, my honor roll-worthy grades are insane. I hope the credits I'm transferring to Brandeis will help turn my GPA around, because I want to go to India and the program I'm interested in requires a minimum GPA of 3.0. I want to raise it now! Now now now! BRING IT, BRANDEIS.

I've also started looking for apartments. I added myself to the reslife waiting list and e-mailed several want ads for off-campus digs. I mean, I'm so excited, I did all of this the day I realized I'm coming back. I don't think I've sent that many e-mails in such a short period of time. Let's drive to Massachusetts now, please.

That said, I love Denton in the summer. I've got friends, the weather's nice (for now). Beer and pizza. Lots of free time, with a semi-useless blow-off class to keep me semi-occupied.

Also, getting news and radio experience at KNTU! Copy editing AP stories alone is turning me into a better writer, and though cold-calling people for original stories is obnoxious (they NEVER CALL BACK), it's hardly as terrifying as it used to be. Also, I'm going to co-anchor The Late Edition on Mondays at 5:30 central time. Yes, this is a shameless plug. Listen to me rattle off the news!

It's weird how many things I have to say after just a week. I may post more tomorrow.
