So, I worked last night at the Victory v Sydney FC game. They had put me on the dining level which has 4 huge function areas. I was on the door from the dining area to the seats of one of the dining rooms, this room had a function hosted by Melbourne Victory and the guests seemed to be employees of sponsors and their partners and various official and celebrity guests (Dicko from Australian Idol was there).
My job was to open and close the door for people going back and forward between the dining/function area and their seats in the stadium. My already sore and tired body didn't really like it, but it is quite easy and you just have to be charming to everyone, even if they're not to you.
Most of the time I just got to stand there and entertain myself. I did this by smiling at a cute guy on a table near the door, watching a bit of the game, stretching my very sore and danced out legs and thinking a bit. And I came to the realisation that I may be everything Alex doesn't want in being a female, I think I am almost the anti-feminist.
I don't mean by that, that I am against feminism, I mean that I think everything I want goes against everything feminists fight for. I certainly think women have the right to be equal to men in every way. But I don't necessarily want to be.
The thought keeps occurring to me that I would really like to have someone who insists on paying and wants me to look good when we go to things so they would fund new dresses, hair, nails and shoes.
Haha, I feel really shallow thinking all this but right now I want someone older and stable and not necessarily rich but certainly living comfortably.
Anyway, that is all I really wanted to say I think. Oh, and the cute guy I smiled at said thank you and smiled at me everytime I opened the door and called me sweetheart and princess. And when Alex finds out I enjoyed that 'male opression' her delicate feminist sensitivity will be greatly offended. Yes? Yes. (I'll add a lol here so the sarcasm is obvious...) LOL.
^_^
Edit: It seems I may have unfairly exaggerated Alex as a feminist. And therefore made her the focus of this blog. I was only using her as an example and if I keep trying to explain I'll make it worse. So there. The point was, I liked being an object, it wasn't even supposed to be a commentary on feminism, just me airing thoughts of the possibility of a wealthy boyfriend not being a bad one. And how shallow that made me. Thats all.
