Havoc was this movie where this girl wanted to belong so bad she had no self identity, and was almost willing to give up all her dignity to fit in.
The quote is her answer to why her and her white rich friends made up a ghetto clique, so they could be fake together.
But, that wasn't enough for her and she want to go more hardcore with a real gang.
The whole reason she did it is to get attention and belong.
What is the human need to belong?
I don't remember being desperate to fit into any group.
I have always been the floater.
I have never just done something because a group did it.
I wear and do something because i like it.
Not because the popular group did it.
I guess i am unique.
Different moods always meant different groups.
Not that i'm knocking those in tight cliques.
That is their comfort.

The writer has this brilliant way of keeping things light when they are really dark.
