Move!

The only other story I have from my internet free timez is my move.  It didn't suck, but it wasn't awesome.  My reading week on the whole wasn't that great.  I just kept having these attacks of idiocy, and it really made my life harder.

I had asked my friend Brenden to help me move in January.  I told him I would be moving over reading week and I asked him if he was going to be in town.  He said he was.  The week before, I told him I could move on wednesday or thursday, which was better for him? And he said wednesday.  So I organized my ENTIRE move around him being able to help me on wednesday.  A few of my other friends offered to help, and I'd mentioned it to another guy and when I asked what he was doing that day, he said he was helping me.  I texted Brenden and didn't hear anything back, so I texted him again, and he said he was going skiing in the morning, what time was I moving? and I said I'd told people to be at Artz st at 9.45.  He said, at night? WHO MOVES AT 9.45 AT NIGHT?!  I said no, in the morning.  He said ugh, hang on.  And then I never heard from him again.

The move was fine.  Drew brought his girlfriend, I bought them all lunch for helping me.  Then my one friend and I went to pick up my couch.  It was in the depths of Dartmouth.  Brenden had taken me to see in originally, and I'd expected that he was going to take me to pick it up, but he bailed, so I had to figure it out myself.  Megan is bad at directions and there are no street signs in this backward city, so we drove around Dartmouth for 1.45 hours at $0.49/km trying to find it.  We got there in the end.  And then it took me 15 minutes to get back to the bridge.

Oh, the other thing that happened was that Bell fucked me over.  I'd ordered internet online before I moved, someone was meant to call me and never did.  I called them and they said my order didn't exist so someone would call me back in the next 24 hours.  No one did.  I called them after I moved and was on hold for about 15 minutes and said fuck to this, and hung up.  I then called my mom and complained and told her how Eastlink was so much more money and she said she'd pay for it and for me to have a land line. Which is great.  Except I unpacked my phone when the guy came and sorted it out and it didn't work.  So I have to buy a new one.

why moving sucks, small children everywhere, the fax
