i was really pleased that the US was staying out of the gaza crisis. i know that israel is our ally, but i was relieved when the issue was going on for over a week and we hadn't made any official moves to support either side.
and then today al jazeera reports that congress passed a bill to aid/back israel. yes yes yes i know we're allies. but we don't have to get into everything in the world. this crisis in the gaza is heartbreaking and don't fully understand it. i mean, i do kind of. i don't know that peace between the palestinians and the israelis will ever be possible. but violence had severely decreased (mostly due to a wall that was built...and entirely different saddening story). i just don't see why we feel the need to be the center of attention all the time. most of the arab world already disapproves of our foreign policy...and this absolutely will not help. ugh...
