The bad: The temp job that I was supposed to start yesterday is still in limbo. The company has a temp in the job right now that they want to replace with me, but they seem to be having problems with HR. They wanted me to meet with the accounting manager this morning, and then I got a call from the agency telling me that the meeting had to be moved to tomorrow. Still no clue when or even *if* it's really going to happen at this point.
The good: There's this other temp agency that takes a pickier approach to its temp roster. You send in your resume, and then if they like it, they will call you to set up an interview. I'm meeting with them this afternoon (it would have been this morning except I had the other now-postponed meeting for the job I'm starting to give up on due to the delays). This makes me very happy because I've heard nothing but good things about them, and the thing I've heard remind me of an agency I worked for in '94 that ended with me getting hired by the client company (the one that I finally left last year, mainly because they were no longer the company that hired me). They're a small local company, and they have clients like LAIKA, aka the company that made _Coraline_.
