Welcome to my whacked-out world.

Le sigh.  _Leverage_ filming wraps, like, this weekend.  Saturday night at Kane's last 2009 PDX show, I found myself in a drunken (did I mention the two single and three double whiskey sours?) conversation with my sister-in-law and John Rogers about film festivals.  You may be wondering who John Rogers is.  He would be the guy whose name appears above Chris Downey's on the opening credits for _Leverage_ under the text "Executive Producer."  The sil told him that I had taken her son to see them filming a car driving down the street one weekend, and the kidlet was *very* excited when that bit was on a recent ep.  She was told that the next time she found on-location filming, bring the kidlets to the set and find him, because he will, like, take them on a tour or something.  I guess no one *ever* chats up the producers/writers, and the fact that she tracked him down a *second* time (after getting his autograph for my nephews) made an impression on him.

And, oh, yes, everyone knows that the third season is a go, right?  It is specifically a go *in Portland*.  I may have to take a friend's advice and cold call a certain production company and see if they will be hiring inexperienced production assistants.  I want to be a walkie talkie person.  I know this area fairly well, I know downtown (where they do a *lot* of location work) *really* well, and I live about half an hour (maybe not even that far) from the studio out in Clackamas.  The hours might be horrific, but best of all, it would be by its very nature a temp job.  Six months, and then it's on to something else.  Or maybe I can convince that casting agency to hire me, not as an actor/extra but as an admin- or AP-type person.  The tv/film industry in this area seems to be heating up, so it seems like the best time *ever* to try to get into it.  At this point, of course, it's wishful thinking, but I would never have even dreamed that they would be doing any of this stuff here in the first place, so it's kind of like the universe *wants* me to at least *try* to pursue it.
