ELLEN IS BACK!!

Oh man it has been one long hiatus! I think it's been a little more difficult to get out of bed every morning knowing that I won't see Ellen every day. It's like a best friend had gone away on a really long vacation and I'm left here thinking 'ho-hum, dancing across this coffee table isn't as much fun on my own'. I don't have a job, right, so I'm at home every day to see Ellen at midday, so watching the re-runs is just not an option for me...unless it's the Johnny Depp episode, could watch that on repeat for the rest of my liiiifeeeee!!! But now she's finally back with new episodes!!!
I think everyone needs someone like Ellen DeGeneres in their life, even if it is only through a TV screen for an hour a day. Eveyone needs someone who wants to make them laugh. Everyone needs a positive influence in their life and Ellen is all positivity. I think we can all get brought down by a lot of the poison that is in the world, so you need someone like Ellen to cheer you up and show you that there is still goodness and kindness out there, if you know the right places to look.
I was a little surprised today when Ellen was saying during the opening of the show that she had to go from state to state, pitching the idea to station managers and that a lot of people didn't want to buy the show. I can't imagine my life without Ellen. I started watching during season six, when too many days staying home 'sick' from school meant I needed something to watch while eating lunch. If not for Ellen I might not be a Little Monster, because it was after seeing Lady Gaga on her show that I realized she was worth my time and someone I could relate to. I would probably still think Russell Brand was an overrated dude who needed to have a shower and buy some new fucking pants, but then he was on Ellen and I realized that he wasn't overrated, he's just seriously hilarious.
She's opened my eyes to so many new things and it's impossible to not smile when I watch her show. It doesn't matter how shitty a day I've had, she always lifts my heart. When I look at Ellen and listen to her speaking out on issues that are important to me it makes me optimistic of the future of the world. She's so kind and warm that all I wanna do is give her a hug, and have a dance with her and Tony. I love how she can make me laugh hysterically before falling to pieces and doing the ugly cry all in the span of one hour.
It's not just the celebrity interviews that I appreciate (although I think she has a great gift for getting public figures to feel welcomed and makes a lot of them seem funnier than they actually are), but I love how she pays just as much respect to the 'every-day' heroes she brings on the show. It's so great to see a show where people are being celebrated for something beyond their looks.
I'm just so freakin' happy that she's back!! I can't wait for all the new and hilarious interviews and all the new musical acts I'm going to hear for the first time on her show and then hear endlessly everywhere I go after that [COUGH]CARLYRAEJEPSEN[COUGH]. I'm also looking forward to all the inspiring people she'll surely introduce me to.
It's a little shot of optimism in the afternoon and it's great to have her gorgeous face with those RIDCULOUSLY BLUE EYES back on my TV where she belongs!!!
Long Live the Queen of the Talkshow!!!
ALSO, she and Portia celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary during the hiatus. Congratulations to the cutest and sweetest couple in Hollywood.
