So my day started with Stella peeing on the bed.
Then my daughter let her in just after I let her out - I went to have a pee myself - and she pooped in the living room. Stella. Not my daughter.
I've felt like big balls o'crap for the last 4 days.
Today is Tom's birthday and I didn't have anything for him (my present to him was a combined Christmas/birthday present which he got at Christmas - a digital drum machine). But not even a card.
It was looking like a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.
Then I took Stella for her morning walk.
It snowed like a bugger all yesterday so the trees were iced in snow, the field completely smoothed over. And blue sky and sunshine.
The road wasn't plowed.
Why did the bus run on the backroads??
We walked in silence.
The world muted by all the snow insulation.
Stella bounced from snowbank to snowbank with the occasional jump - that giant 4 legged leap of faith - into the field.
She settled in front of the fire on our return and while Tom was in town, I made blueberry muffins for lunch. And a homemade card.
The day is looking up.
