it's been a roller coaster ride lately:
- HARD run on Saturday. Up hills, down hills, 2hours in the heat, pounding the pavement. Knees were so sore I had to walk the last couple of kilometers home.
- BAD ride on Sunday - felt wholly unmotivated to ride for 3:15hrs let alone 5hrs. Couldn't do it. my bad.
- left knee starts locking going up or down stairs. not completely. just feels like it. weird!
- run intervals on Tuesday. knee feels weird. starts pinging. slow down and it stops. starts burning. walk for awhile. and it stops again. push to finish the last 10minutes at race pace and while it doesn't hurt *then* two seconds after finishing? OUCH!
- try to make an appointment with my PT, the lovely Witch Jill. She's off on vacation until Monday. ack!
- scramble around to find another PT willing to see me ASAP.
- meantime, find out they've changed the IM rules and the official 17hour timeclock starts when the FIRST age grouper starts the swim, not the last. Meaning we could have only 16hours to complete. WTF?!?
- find a PT. I know nothing about her which causes me a sleepless night.
- try to internalize the IM rule thing - I want to finish well before midnight anyway. Breathe, silly girl, breathe.
- PT visit: torn lateral (outside) meniscus. Rx is rest. Ice. Ibuprofen. Maybe some "arms only" swimming. NO running. NO cycling. Until the pain stops.
- final long run/long bike are sidelined. Have I done enough? oh lord. HAVE I DONE ENOUGH??
breathe. breathe
