So....

The last time I wrote I was like "boohoo, it's Friday and nobody can go out!!" About 5 minutes later Kevin came into the icafe and was all "whatareyadointanite?" So I hung out with Kevin & Co. Mendaur, Molly Malone's. It was the first time I had ever been out without having a huge group of girlfriends. It was kind of fun to talk to different people. I left early so I could wake up early to go to Pamplona with Nathalie and Sandra.

But when my alarm went off a few hours later, I thought "didn't my guidebook say that Pamplona was boring unless it's sanfermines?" And I went back to sleep. I've never even read "The Sun Also Rises." In fact, the only Hemmingway I've ever read was "The Old Man and the Sea," which doesn't even take place in Spain. And they don't run the bulls until early July (after I leave :o()

So... Jessica came over to escape her evil flatmate American Kate. We went shopping. I will miss Zara, Mango & H&M. Thank God for the H&M in Richmond. I mean, I'm trying to be less materialistic! Who likes to shop?! Silly, shallow Americans. I just need pants! :o)

Then we went for lunch & para tomar un café en Bideluze. Ahora tiene mesas afuea- en la plaza de guizpokoa. yay! Bocadillo de tortilla española- yummmhmm. And our favorite, adorable waiter was working. He is trying to learn English and always asks us silly questions.

Then we decided to do something super-touristy: take a ride on the txu-txu. (In basque, the "tx" makes a "ch" sound.) So we took a ride around the city on the ridiculous tourist train. It looks like something that belongs in the kiddie section of an amusement park. It was fun, but we should have waited until more Erasmus kids left.

Connie- Let's take a picture of people getting into a taxi!!
Shannon- Wait, is that a Boston College shirt?
Jessica- It's Chris! Hide!

We also drove by Jenine, who burst out laughing when she saw us. but the best was when our new flatmates & the mom called out to us as we were taking pictures of our own street. It was a ridiculous, embarassingly fun time. :o)

Honestly don't remember what we did Saturday night. Sunday- beach day!! Yay! I love the beach here. Afterwords, Christina, Francie and I went to Bideluze again for some white wine, patatas ariolas y cute waitor! Life is tought, right? Shopping, beach, wine in the sunny plaza... That night we met at Nathalie's flat for some Bailey's and cheesy, sentimental conversation. Then we headed to Zibbibbo's for free Sangria, then some other Bar. Forget the name. Good music.

Monday... Yesterday? Umm... Ooh, Jessi, Nathalie and I took the cable car up the other mountain to the little cheesy amusement park. The view of the city was SPECTACULAR! I cannot believe that I live here. We got café con leche in a cute little place with a view, and we sat there for about 3 hours, talking and enjoying the cheesy music. I'm really going to miss Spanish music. Did I tell you that Connie burned the Alex Ubago CD for me? Good, Donostian sapiness.

Last night was dinner at Nathalie's, but Christina cooked. Schnitzel (sp?) and a dessert that sounded like Kaixo (basque for "hello") Mom. She says it's very Aurstrian. Good times with the girls. There were 9 of us because Ceci, Eileen and Katy came also. Watched the Eurocup. Sweeden kicked Bulgaria's ass. Tonight Germany's playing Holland- everyone's going to Molly Malone to watch, but I REALLY need to study. THere is little hope of passing this exam on Friday. But I want to study as much as I can now so that I can hang out with Franci on Thursday night, her last night here :o( It's been sad that people were leaving, but now my actual friends are starting to leave :o(

I should really go back and study now. But I kind of feel like doing the quiz that Lizz has posted. Hmm...
