So okay... she's arrived and safe and I can't jynx it anymore XD so here's the scoop. When I decided to sell the Renee, I also decided I would replace 'Aniqa' with a different mold - in fact, it was actually the other way around. ^^; I was a little bit nervous - especially since I don't remember ever seeing a doll made by this company in person (if I have, I don't think I handled her much... and most of the owner pictures I've seen haven't been that great, either...), but she was just so darn cute! So I thought to heck with it, just go for it! And I did. :)
She's French resin (OMG another one that can't see sunlight more than 20 minutes at a time (for the sake of my nerves)! XD). Ah well, she's gorgeous - I've decided I really like French resin, even if it does terrify me. ^^;;; I did have a choice with this company - urethane or French - and yes, I chose French. And she's also white skin (translucent milk, is what it's called) - which is super nice and yes, very translucent-y. ;3 She was a limited head and I got her with their upgraded 'Senior' girl body, which has double joints at elbows and knees. Do you know who she might be, yet?
Dun-dun-dun-da! She is... *drum roll* an
Angell Studio Mandarava. :) I actually got her before anyone on DoA had owner-pictures of this particular mold - yet another reason I was worried about her. XD
She's so cute! Eee! 8D
I actually think she's more beautiful in person than I can capture in photos - I have no idea why!! It's so annoying... maybe I just haven't found her angles, yet, but anyhoo... I'd rather have a doll be prettier in person than the other way around! So that's okay. :3 I have pictures, anyway. XD
She glows in the light. :3
In the shade (where she's at least safer ^^):
She can stand with one toe pointed. :3
She has the one-off 14 faceup from Angell Studio (not really one-of-a-kind, just a special non-default type). It's quite well done. :)
Standing straight, she can't really spread her legs much, so she stands with them pretty close together. You can spread them with a little effort, but not much. XD
She has great balance, though, and easily keeps the positions you can get her into. :)
I thought she would be 'thicker' - the photos of this body on the website makes it seem like the body is kind of... pudgy? But she's totally not! She's very similar in size to the SDC - except a little slimmer, I think, and shorter in the legs - her bust size is not quite as big, either - she's very close to Keeley in the bust (DZ 1/4) and can fit the narae clothes from Swan20 I had bought her. I actually really love the body. The arms seem a little longer than most minis and she has a long torso - she has the same limb proportions as me! XD (long torso/arms, short legs) I find that amusing...
Closeup of the faceup - she's got the 16mm Dollshe Deck Tan urethane eyes in her. :) They are totally green... at least my pair are. ^^
Attitude. >3
All in all, I'm pretty happy. :) She's stiffer than the SDC (thank God) and keeps her poses without falling over/collapsing. She has great head rotation and not bad wrist rotation (although her right arm seems like the drilled hole the string runs through is a little narrow because the hook won't twist a full 360 degrees - her left is fine ^^) and great ankle rotation. She has a thigh joint, which is nice and handy, and her double joints do make it possible to get about a 60 degree angle (guestimating here) - so it's not quite as good as say, Yaro's Domuya double-joint, but it's decent and better than a single joint - it is a bit clicky, though, and can be tricky to get it further than 45 degrees through clothing - and the elbow double joint looks a bit odd when it goes further than that... Her under-bust joint has good swivel and a small back-and-forth rotation (not much, but more than most I own - Volks and Domuya to name specifics), and it's very natural looking.
Her head is a faceplate! I love being able to take off a head without having to get out the hook puller - why is every doll not like this?!! XD I didn't even know this before I got her~ it was a nice surprise.
As for the company, I ordered direct from Angell Studio and dealt with two girls, first was Lily and next was Teresa - both were wonderful and extremely helpful!! Lily gave me all sorts of pictures demonstrating the difference between the regular body and the senior body's joints when I asked and Teresa took over Lily's position later and was very quick to update me with faceup pictures when my girl was painted and sending me pictures of her in her box before they shipped her even. :) It was a wonderful shopping experience and I would definitely recommend them.
All in all, I am very satisfied with her and yep! She's the new Aniqa. :) Aniqa as a character will change a bit to accomodate the new look, but honestly, I wasn't that attached to Aniqa's character when she was the Renee, so... I don't really mind. ^^; She'll still have the same background, but a bit of a different personality, I think. ;3
