A post that isn't (very) coffee-related.

Halfway through reading week already-- huh? I think I can safely say I've been using it to relax... aka bum around. Which is really the point of the week off, isn't it? To bum around some to regain the sanity necessary to pull through the last half of the semester/quarter of the academic year/sixteenth of my degree. Yes, the last sixteenth of my degree! I've handed in my paperwork and so it is now official; I will be graduating in June. Ridiculous.

It always seems that, in the cold days of February, my mind becomes pleasantly engaged with the promise of summer. I've been spending far too much of my time envisioning early summer mornings on the deck with a big mug of coffee, listening to the churchbells and enjoying the sunshine. In between these images, I see chill afternoons with friends involving pitchers of sangria on patios in the Market. Of course, these daydreams are quashed when I step outside and the chilly wind knocks me back to February's Ottawa. But it's only a few months off... a delightful thought indeed.

Aside from bumming around and avoiding my schoolwork like the plague, work applications have been keeping me pretty busy. At first I was worried about opportunities for the summer but now that it's started... well, the expression "when it rains it pours" is sort of starting to become true. Not that I'm complaining. I interviewed for the NCC yesterday and on Friday I'm going in for some testing for a Junior Communications position at the Commissioner for Official Languages office. And there are still a few other positions I'm looking into, and a few places I'm hoping to hear back from. Which is all very good, because a Meg that has the means to pay the rent is a happy Meg, indeed.

Last night, Marina and I had a Pride and Prejudice marathon... 5 hours of unadulterated BBC goodness mixed with a delightful variety of foodstuffs that were bad for us. So good. Soooo good. And it made me realize how very much I had been in need of a Mr. Darcy fix... I should now be good until the summer-ish... I hope.

Mmmmm Darcy. Mmmmm swordfighting. Mmmmm jumping into the pond. Mmmmm having madd eye sex with Lizzie Bennet at Pemberley. Mmmmm.
