a brief rant-ish-type-thing about fanfiction
So, Closer to the Heart is up on FFN. It gets a fair amount of feedback, usually to the effect of "I loved it, can't wait for more" and some "you should probably deviate from the original plot a bit more". Both of those are reviews that I can understand and am glad to have.
What I don't understand...
There's one person who has reviewed twice now. Both times the comments have been just for the purpose of soundly bashing Buffy (the character). I don't understand this type of review. Is that a common thing? No major thoughts on the fic, just a lot of, "yeah, Buffy makes stupid decisions", which, I guess, is trying to tell me I've got her in character, but I don't get it.
Also: I'm attempting to subvert the "Buffy-is-a-bitch" trope, so this guy might be disappointed later.
