(There are some crossover episodes between Buffy and Angel. A few of them in Angel season 1/Buffy season 4. Two in Angel2/Buffy5. A sort of vaguely referenced, not actually seen on screen one in Angel3/Buffy6. The story of Buffy will still make sense without the Angel episodes. Until Angel4/Buffy7. There's a character that leaves Buffy in Buffy4 and comes back in Buffy7, if you haven't seen that characters crossover episodes in seasons 1 and 4 of Angel, then that characters return might not make much sense. This viewing guide (http://forums.pdxbrowncoats.com/index.php?topic=1646.0) has the episodes broken up into story arcs for convenient viewing of both shows, or you could just go season for season (Angel then Buffy on the last one) and things would probably make enough sense.)

Yeah, you've mentioned Erin's opinions before. Seems unreasonable to me, but to each her own. I find it a little bit funny that she's okay with the NC-17 movies you guys have seen, but you have to hide the Buffy DVDs. I could potentially understand wanting to disregard Buffy as gimmicky if all you had seen is OMWF, though most fans who've seen the entire show list it as one of their favorites.

I thought 'Bad Eggs' was fairly nice, though nothing I'd put in my top ten. Monster of the week + plot is the format in most seasons, with longer arcs from time to time as well.

Fight chroeography will be pretty awesome for the rest of the show. (Just wait til you get to the S2 finale.)

Erin isn't offended by gratuitous sexual content, but she is offended by stupidity... and she feels that Buffy is simply brimming over with it. She would find it "incredulous that I could possibly waste my time watching that shit" (<--me imagining her reaction)
It's actually kind of bizarre how intense she is about this... I was actually not allowed to talk to her about Dollhouse while I was watching it.
There is no rational reason for it to be so intense, but I feel like it could quite possibly be a result of her friends from high school who quite liked Whedon's work. A lot of them still act as if they are in high school, haven't really moved on in their lives, so really most things associated with them that she doesn't already have a high opinion of are kind of taboo, stemming from a sense of disappointment. Or something.

I was just pointing the humor in the fact that most guys have to hide their porn from the Mrs.

and she feels that Buffy is simply brimming over with it.

Based on one episode? I mean, yes it was a musical, but it also had some fairly dark overtones even as a standalone (which it probably shouldn't be viewed as, since it advances several character arcs).

Conflating shows with other emotional stimuli seems pretty common. That's why nostalgia is so powerful with some people. I doubt that there's any hope of convincing her it's worthwhile, but the condescension over your enjoying it seems a bit too far, in my humble opinion.

I have what I'm sure you will agree is a serious dilemma (hence, the title of the comment). The box set I am borrowing is missing disk 4, which includes episodes 13-16. Hulu doesn't have season 2, so that's out, and any torrents I download through Demonoid (recommended by Lydia) only play audio, even on a brand spanking new media program I downloaded (after Lydia's recommendation). Where/how do you download torrents?
Or, do you know where I might watch these episodes online for free?
(Oh yes, I forgot, Youtube has pretty much all the episodes for season 2, decent video quality even, but... the thing is backwards. It's a mirror image of how it's supposed to be. Like, if I'm watching the DVD and Buffy is on the left of the screen, on these Youtube videos she will be on the right. Any printed words are backwards. It's annoying, and I'd prefer a better way to watch.)

So, you have BitTorrent or something similar already installed, yes? (http://www.bittorrent.com/)

Then you just google "buffy torrent" and you can usually find stuff. Hits from thepiratebay.org are usually the ones I go with. There are lots of torrent sites though and google is the best way to sift through them. There is a torrent search engine that I sometimes use (http://scrapetorrent.com/), which is also helpful.

Here's one link for all seasons of Buffy: http://extratorrent.com/torrent/1481048/Buffy+The+Vampire+Slayer+Comlete+Season+1-7+With+Extra+Content.html

You can check/uncheck files when you're setting up the download.

Or for watching online, sidereel is usually good. (http://www.sidereel.com/Buffy_The_Vampire_Slayer) It provides links from all around the web. Megavideo links are high quality, but you can only watch for an hour and then you have to wait an hour to watch again.
