For those who have forgotten or never knew, ____________ = the word better than awesome.

Dollhouse!
Dollhouse!
Doll-freaking-house!

SPOILERS UP THROUGH THE 12/18 EPISODES OF DOLLHOUSE!

A few pieces and theories have been clicking together in my head and I want to organize them.

1. Boyd's been taking care of 'personal' stuff.
2. Dr. Saunders is in the previews for next week.

1+2=3

3. Boyd has either already found or is looking for Dr. Saunders.

4. Bennet.
5. "She showed me something Alpha didn't. Caroline."

4+5=9 (Just go with my crazy numbers.)

9. Bennet seems to have been working with Caroline either before or during her tenure as the D.C. programmer. Surely Rossum found out about that. What with her being trapped under a rock and all. I think there are basically two scenarios for her.
-----Bennet has genuinely offered her services to Rossum. The more I think about it, the more I doubt it.
-----Bennet's a good guy. She's still helping Caroline/Echo. But didn't she torture Echo? ... Did she? I don't know about the electricity, but the Caroline piece proved useful. Maybe the elecrticity was a painful, but necessary part of the process to unlock Echo's head so she could use all of her imprints. In either scenario, Bennet may be genuinely pissed off with Caroline for leaving her under that rock. The thing that's really swaying me toward the good guy option is Perrin. She let him escape. She wanted him to get away with Echo. Someone who was really under Rossum's thumb would have kept their future President right where he needed to be. Perrin also said that someone put the knowledge in his brain of how to get out of the D.C. Dollhouse. The only logical suspect for that is Bennet.

10. Perrin. Is he really programmed like Rossum wants him to be or is he awake like Echo and just waiting for his moment.

9+10=19

19. If Bennet's a good guy, then it's even more likely that Perrin's waiting for a moment to use Rossum's political weapon against them, but playing along in the meantime.

20. Clyde.
21. Epitaph one.

20+21=41

41. I think Joss is getting ready to retcon Epitaph One as just one of several potential futures, played out in Clyde's mind. Bits and pieces of what we've seen so far may already be contradicting some of the Epitaph One storyline. If it were me, I would end with another potential scenario played out, but then in the final moments set up the idea that either of those or a hundred thousand others could be the actuality. Knowing Joss' M.O., I wouldn't put it past him.

42. Clyde knows a lot, but does he know everything?

19+41+42=102

102. Clyde may not account for variables like self aware Dolls or Rossum personel working against the corporation. Perhaps his scenarios don't consider the possibility of Rossum's government man being aware or Bennet pulling his strings to her liking even if it conflicts with Rossum. This could still lead to a retcon of Epitaph One, but end happily with a decisive victory for the good guys and not the end of civilization. Then again, it's Joss. We haven't had a decisively happy ending since (if you want to count it) Buffy.

103. Clyde did say that 3% of his scenarios did not result in the end of civilization. Could we end up with a glimpse at those? But again, this is Joss, if we get a glimpse of a happy ending, it will probably be part of a fake out, which he does on a regular basis.

104. I think, based on a familiarity with Joss' works, his ending will be as ambiguous as can possibly be done. I guess that takes me back to 41.

Dollhouse is definitely headed toward something amazing and probably something very ambiguous as well. I am absolutely on the edge of my seat, riding through to the finale. I'm sure Joss will wrap up a lot of questions, leave a few unanswered, and add some new ones before it's all over. Joss Whedon, I salute you, sir. Thank you for some of the greatest mind-bogglage I have had in a long while. Keep 'em coming through the rest of Dollhouse and in future projects as well.

reviewish stuff, dollhouse, fanboy moment
