Wow, I'm sorry you're getting so screwed over by UofL! Why the fuck would they send a collections agency on your ass without even alerting you first? That's really sad. :( I'm scared to death of student loans, that's why I only took classes if I could pay them off immediately during registration. I hope you get all of that worked out, it's nasty business. :(

Wish I'd done that. Mind you, that means I wouldn't have been able to start school until about 2015... Society told me I was supposed to go to college right after high school...then again, when have they ever been right?
I went to college right after high school, but I had been working since I was 14 and had enough money saved up to pay for full time classes for the first year. It was a mistake though, because working full time and going to school full time didn't work out so well for me, and I dropped out after one year. Too much stress. :(

I learned that much about myself long ago. I could probably afford crap if I could handle any amount of stress that other people seem to be so readily capable of handling. *wards off the emo spirits*
I do part time work and full time class (and fulltime as in 12-13 not 18-20 like the psycho kids these days) and I'm still staring in the face of a mental breakdown every other day.
I have the easiest (and consequently lowest paying) job in the world. I run the boards at a local radio station while the football/basketball games are on the air. I play the local commercial breaks. It's great for zero-stress-tolerance, but (obviously) doesn't always get the bills paid.
I'm always in awe of people who are able to balance full time work and full time classes, and not have a mental breakdown.
I'm currently having mental breakdowns with more and more frequency because of this. It's not good. Had a doozy last night. Thank goodness the semester is almost over...
