So the days float through my eyes

I finally starting to really settle in, I think. Yesterday I went and bought some postcards to put on the walls and even such a small thing helped a lot. I also need to buy at least a sharp knife and a usable frying pan. Cooking is not at all attractive when you can't even cut a tomato well and the bottom of the pan isn't even. But yeah, slowly I will make this a home.

Today I finally had the energy and time to go out and walk around the city. I went to the Imperial Palace and then walked a long way along the river. It is so beautiful here! I need to take a bike some day and see how long the road beside the river goes. I also started planning climbing on the mountains. The view will be great, but I need to wait until the temperature is a bit more sensible. Tomorrow there is a big flea market, I'm definitely going there.

One of the biggest problems I have is with food. The amount of meat I'm eating is disgusting. Even though even in Finland I'm sort of an opportunistic vegetarian, I eat meat if there is nothing else, this is really starting to get me. The Japanese just do not have the notion of vegetarian, and everything has at least some fish flakes in it. I don't separate, meat is meat, be it mammal, bird or fish. At least on weekends I can cook my own food. We'll see if I get used to this, but now I feel disgusted.

Other than that, there is already too much unnecessary drama going on in the dorm and school. Just trying to keep my head down and not get involved in any way. Gah, people, can't you just let things pass?

Otherwise I'm pretty happy here. The school has so many different things going on that there is no way of getting bored.
