Tonight I watched an episode of Sex and the City at twice the normal speed. It was amazing. It was the most enjoyable fifteen minutes of my day.
I'll never stop being surprised at this: grapefruit with a little bit of sugar sprinkled on top tastes like the best candy in the world.
Read books about Des Moines's history at work today, looked at pictures of the Capitol building's foundations and of women in petticoats strolling down University. My favorite picture was one of 28th street by Drake as a narrow, shady lane at the turn of the (last) century.
Made popovers just now. The book I was reading was describing the finer biological points of being a hermaphrodite and it made me strangely hungry for popovers.
