It seems like 1 entry a month is the best I can do these days, so a monthly post it is.
As most of you probably know, I was in the UK for almost a week, May 11-16. My Backstreet sis Isabella and I were in Glasgow for just two days, the 11th and the 12th. Needless to say, we spent the first day shopping at a mall and in the area where our hotel was located.
On Sunday, we went to the S.E.C.C. arena for the BSB concert and, lo and behold, managed to convince Marcus (the Head of Security) to let us in to the Soundcheck Party, just like three years ago! YAY US (and Marcus, of course)! We basically got to see them rehearse a couple of songs, answer some (oh so dull) questions from fans, act silly (my fave part, LOL), shake hands with them (I told AJ we'd see him a couple of days later in London for his solo show and I congratulated Howie on the baby he's expecting with his wife... WHY is it that I can never find something to tell Nick?!? *headdesk*) and have our picture taken with them.
Which I'm so not showing you because, of all the pictures I've got with them, that's by far the worst one. >.<
The best thing is that we got all of that for free when other people had paid 175 euros for said 'VIP package' !
We also had 8th row tickets to the concert, which was great, of course, but I couldn't help missing Kevin all the way through. ='(
Then came London.
To make a long story short, it was the most exhausting/expensive trip ever! Because of all the walking we did, we were tired all the time, but we managed to do a lot more shopping (I think I bought 15-20 books in the span of 5 days!) and I finally got to go to the National Gallery and Tate Britain, where I saw tons of paintings from my favorite artists, such as Dante Gabriel Rossetti, W. Turner, T. Gainsborough, J. Reynolds, W. Hogarth, J. Constable, J. Linnel, J. Everett Millais, G. Stubbs, W. Blake, E. Burne-Jones etc.
The London concert wasn't as exciting as the Glasgow one because we had crappy seats, but it was better than not seeing them at all, I guess.
What was awesome was AJ's solo show on the following night! I have to admit I'm not much of a fan of his solo stuff, but the show was great, especially because Brian, Howie (with Leigh in tow) and Nick also came to see him, which resulted in me spending most of the time looking at them instead of AJ, LOL. Brian even waved and yelled 'Hello' to us.
AJ's show was also cool because, for the very first time, I liked an opening act more than the actual main act! I'm talking about
Neil Thomas, a young musician/songwriter based in London, whose
MySpace you should totally check out. I've actually left him a comment and he gave me his e-mail to request his songs in a downloadable format. He's adorable, even more so in person than how he might come across online. =)
Most of my time since I got back from London (on Friday 16, in the morning...after over 30 sleepless hours! O_o ) has been spent studying for two tests (Anatomy of Birds & Fish + Genetics) and watching tv.
I totally suck because I haven't been watching movies for weeks, but I've been through all of my "Dharma & Greg" Season 2 DVD set and I watched all of "I Liceali", an Italian short series set in a High School (hence the title). Needless to say to those of you who might have seen it, too, my favorite storyline was the one that eventually led to Valerio/Filippo. Alessandro Sperduti (the boy who plays Valerio, see current icon) owns me. Hence the small picspam...
It looks like all I do is developing crushes on 1988ers these days... .:blushes:.
Speaking of which, classes are over until September, which has me both a little sorry but mostly relieved. I'm sorry because that probably means I won't be seeing my uni friends for over 3 months, but that also means I won't be seeing Matteo either, which is the part that has me relieved (that and the fact that I'll be spending more time with my Tony). Which might actually help me get over him once and for all. After all, I was more than ok over Christmas break. I wouldn't see him and I wouldn't even think about him all that much.
Of course, the fact that the other day he texted me to ask how I'd done in my Genetics test and to ask if I was going to be in uni either tomorrow or the day after tomorrow because he wanted to say goodbye and the subsequent 10 minutes I spent on the phone with him didn't help. Meh.
And now on to my favorite current subject: "Criminal Minds".
I think yesterday alone I watched 6 episodes of it, I'm that obsessed. Four of them were the last ones from Season 3 and the other two were "The Big Game" / "Revelations" re-runs on tv (speaking of re-runs, I'm stupidly excited because, starting tomorrow, Italia1 is airing re-runs of "Friends" every day at 7 p.m., which I'm SO watching, even though I have the complete series on DVD, lol). Guh. My love for the show knows no bounds.
To be honest, I thought I would positively hate Season 3 of CM, simply because the episodes I caught on FOX Crime (except for 3x09 - "Penelope") left a lot to be desired (I'm talking eps. 3x10 to 3x13), but I've adored pretty much all of them up to 3x09 and most of them after 3x13! And I know
fenci is going to hate me for this, but I have to admit David Rossi has grown on me (after all Gideon wasn't exactly an entirely likeable character, either) and that I actually like JJ with Will LaMontaigne. Yes, I still love JJ/Emily, too - I actually think I saw a brief flash of jealousy/hurt on Prentiss' face when she saw JJ and Will kiss! - but if JJ has to be with a man, then I'm happy it's Will. And I'm ever so glad they didn't make Reid look jealous/hurt when he saw them kissing.
And don't get me started on Hotch/Reid!!! Even though I sometimes get the nagging feeling they're trying to turn Hotch into a surrogate for Gideon as far as Reid is concerned, I couldn't be happier with the events in this season! (Ok, I could be happier, I guess, like, say, if Hotch had pushed Reid against the door and kissed him *LOL* when Reid got angry and asked if Hotch was punishing him OMGSOHOT *brainfreeze*, but you get my point!)
And, just to (hopefully) make
fenci (and myself!) happy by means of souvenirs, I thought I'd list all of the reasons that I can think of why I believe Hotch and Reid are in love even if they don't know that, yet. =P
So here's today's lesson in the Subtle Art of Slashing:
· There's a deleted scene where Reid tells Morgan he thinks he (Morgan) likes Prentiss because they always sit next to each other at the round table. Guess who actually sits next to one another at the round table more often than they sit next to anybody else???
· Hotch taught Reid how to properly fire a gun.
· Hotch trusted Reid with his own life even after Reid had failed his firearm qualification.
· Hotch and Reid sometimes stand so close to each other while releasing profiles their shoulders end up touching.
· Hotch doesn’t touch anybody else’s arm/shoulder/back nearly as often as he does Reid (or at all!). And, yes, I know it might seem 'unprofessional' if he did that with either JJ or Prentiss because they're girls, but he never does that with Morgan, either. Let alone Gideon or Rossi.
· Reid doesn’t seem very comfortable with physical contact (notice how he doesn’t often shake hands with people when introduced to him, like with the agent at Guantanamo or with Prentiss.), but he doesn’t mind Hotch touching him at all.
· Morgan teased Reid about having been on a date with a guy when Reid was actually attending a NA meeting. (Reid didn't bother contradicting him, though.)
· Hotch knows about Reid’s NA meetings. Gotta love that.
· Reid once said he didn’t want to be stuck in an elevator with Morgan. He yelled for Hotch like a schoolgirl, instead. XD
· Reid is always looking at Hotch for reassurance/validation.
· The proud look on Reid’s face when Hotch was a witness in court in "Tabula Rasa". And Hotch driving Reid to Mr. Corbett's house and waiting for him in the car. I know it's not a slashy scene per se, but it struck me as such.
· "Damaged". How concerned about Hotch's problems Reid looked when JJ phoned Hotch on behalf of Haley. The jealous unenthusiastic look Reid had during the car conversation on the way back. And the fact that he said the whole trip was ultimately uneventful possibly to protect Hotch from having to explain the fact that he put the both of them in danger by having Hardwick's cuffs removed (against Reid's judgment) and by provoking him. So romantic.
· Reid asking Hotch if he was punishing him. Seriously, the only way it could have been any hotter is Hotch had actually pushed Reid against the wall and kissed him, à la Brian Kinney.
· How Hotch only shows sense of humor with Reid.
· Reid always phoning Hotch.
· Hotch only ever smiling because of Reid.
· 'I choose Aaron Hotchner.' Guh.
· 'I knew you'd understand'. *melts*
· The hug. *dies*
The season finale, though, was something else entirely. I watched it last night after the tv re-runs from S2 and it took me ages to fall asleep because of the adrenaline rush, I kid you not! If I'm not mistaken, the SUV that got blown up is neither Prentiss' (because the numbers/letters on the plate seem different, though it's kinda hard to tell) nor Reid's (because he was driving a GMC but the SUV that got blown up was a Chevrolet).
It would make sense for it to be Prentiss because nothing major has happened to her since she joined the show, but, like I said, I don't think it was her.
As for JJ, like somebody else has pointed out, why make her pregnant if AJ Cook needed a maternal leave, instead of killing/hurting her, period? I mean, why use two JJ storylines at the same time?
Reid's been through so much already...even though we all love it when he gets kidnapped, lol, it wouldn't be fair/'balanced' to blow him up, too, would it?
Garcia was 'recently' shot, so it wouldn't make much sense to me if they had something this big happen to her again so soon. Plus it looks like someone was waiting for her in the car because she smiled while approaching it, and I'd hate for them to kill Kevin, too!
Which leaves me with Morgan, Rossi and Hotch.
I just hope I got it all wrong and that it's British Bitch Kate Joyner that got blown up...
Because, seriously? Who needs another Haley who's even more obnoxious than Haley (which I didn't think was even possible!)???
I certainly don't.
And if they let Hotch hook up with her (again) I'm going to hurt someone. .:headdesk:.
Rossi...well, I suppose it would make sense, especially if it were someone who didn't want him back at the BAU, even though maybe Joe Mantegna hasn't been part of the cast for long enough? I mean, Prentiss should be next in line for a big storyline, considering how much longer she's been part of the team.
But I have a horrible, nagging feeling that it's Hotch, because they never showed him getting into his own SUV, because, like with Prentiss, nothing major has happened to him so far (except for LDSK but that didn't just involve him) and, more importantly, because of his position in the Bureau.
And it's a horrible feeling not just because I ADORE Hotch (seriously, Thomas Gibson is such an amazing, possibly underrated actor!), but also because if he doesn't die and is 'only' hurt, he'll have to get some time off the job and that might actually give him time to work things out with Haley
OH NOES!!!!!
[Wow, I'm so evil I scare myself.]
Or hook up with Joyner. .:shudders:.
But if it's him I hope we'll at least get a nice Hotch/Reid scene. .:sigh:.
Either way...
OH GAWD, KILL. ME. NOW. IT'S GOING TO BE SUCH A LOOONG SUMMER.
*crawls into a fetal position and weeps*
