Silence and more silence
Unanswered questions lingering in the air
A tangible threat to our friendship hovers
And my heart beats louder with each passing second
Hoping, and waiting for an answer
None comes to me as I see you turn
And my heart breaks
Wishing I could speak as loud as my heart does
Calling you back
But the silence lingers
As the cold sets in

I feel like an outsider
Trapped in my body, a soul lost
My feelings are out of the ordinary
The common
The safe
And I’m ostracized
Set apart
And I’m alone
Despite the others on the outside too
All looking thru the windows
Fog blocking them from view

“Control”
Wanting something more than life itself
Yet I can’t make myself work for it
And I’m puzzled, not understanding
Suddenly wondering if I’m meant to do this at all
Or I’m just kidding myself
Trying to believe
I am something I’m not
I want something I don’t
Further pressured by friends
Molding my mind into a shape
Acceptable to others
Never knowing potential once had
Or a life once possible

Every night
With my phone
Waiting for you with baited breath
Longing to hear your voice
Lulling me into a steady sleep
Your heartbeat thumping in my ears
As the phone rings
I exhale
And sit back comfortably
As I answer your call.
