John and I walked everywhere in Paris. Mostly because we're too poor to afford butter for our baguettes, but also because it's better to look at castles than the nasty piles of filth on the French metro (oh my god, gross).
While paused at a crosswalk, a man pulled up next to us on a bike. After a minute, he shouted, "Yeah, let's do this!" like some kind of loud, trendy personal trainer and sped off into the evening.
At first I thought he was just really excited about riding a bicycle, but then, behind him, came the greatest thing I have ever seen. An entire family, ten or twelve people in all, riding in a line on segway scooters.
"Let's do this!" Whrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! And they ambled past at like four miles an hour.
It was like a line of baby ducks. Gyroscopic baby ducks on wheels.
