my dilemma!!
I have a major dilemma. I hope you all can follow this:
I have been offered full time hours at work. finally! except: my contract will stay the same as 3 days , the other 2 days i will be employed on a SELF EMPLOYED basis only. money is ok, but obvious drawbacks include no holiday pay no sick pay. good points include not giving notice for the self employed bit at least, maybe able to earn loads as i will be given assistance (on a voluntary basis) and flexible hours. Another major drawback is obviously doing my tax returns (makes me sound ever so grown up lol). I have decided to take this but here lies the dilemma. THose of you who know me well will know the financial situation at home and will know that i need steady income because i am paying lots of bills. self employment does not provide steady income, although in this case it might because i am required to do a certain amount of work no more (unless i really want to). sounds solveable? not quite. i currently have 2 jobs i have been going for, ILVA and Homebase, neither of which are ideal. ILVA pays the same whether u are a cleaner or a supervisor or anything in between. Homebase is funny hours and not an ideal location if car breaks down (i have to consider this as a real possibility as it has happened before). Second interviews are coming round for both. What do i do? If i stop all the second interviews job hunting will have to start again and its such a long process. if i carry on, i may end up somewhere i dont really wanna be and then ill wanna leave and the whole process starts again but with less time and less flexibility to look for work. (my current place are very flexible and accepting of my current situation). I am prepared to put all previous problems aside from the current place and am prepared to stay until i find something uber suitable but how long will that be? meanwhile ill be slogging my guts out doing the self employed work and then having all the hassle of doing the tax returns twice yearly. So, what do i do?????? please help!!! i need to contact ILVA soon, so advice sooner than later will be very much appreciated!!
this is what i posted on another site but situation has since changed slightly. i have closed the doors to ILVA and so have homebase left. that still doesn not mean i know what i am doing.. please help!! all advice welcome asap!!
