well, those who know me really well (i.e. no one lol) will probably know that i'm quite creative and always interested in trying new things. im talking art here by the way. anyway, when i was little i always wanted to make things but they never really panned out because i tended to rush things so they never came out right. a little while back i thought about trying to make my own jewellery as i havent been able to find much jewellery (the new fashionable black beaded stuff) that i actually like. so i thought id make some myself u know? anyway i didnt really have the finances to buy all the bits and pieces straight away so i thought id leave it for a while. and shockingly, two or three weeks later i still want to so i bought some more bits today (my boss let me go early as they was nothing to do and i only had 3 hours to do anyway) and began the long and arduous task of sorting out all the beads i had managed to accrue through work. they were literally falling in my lap so i took this as a good sign. (i found some on the floor by the back door when i walked in to work and some others were just sitting on the shelf waiting to go in the bin would you believe!) i sifted through literally hundreds of beads this afternoon (the small ones were v fiddly) and although i did not have all the correct tools (the pliers you need r like a tenner each and you need about 4 different ones!!!) i just used my tweezers (not just for plucking eyebrows) and my leftie scissors and produced my very first necklace and earring set. they're pretty basic because i couldnt get all the beads i wanted at that time but i think they could seriously pass for shop bought because they are really well done. i will have a picture up as my user icon for a bit but not for long. im going to try black ones next and if they go well, i will seriously consider making some for christmas presents. its still early so if they dont go well then ill have enough time to get some more.
