Contains spoilers for companion characters in ME3.He leaves the battery rolling the tension from his neck and intending to go to Shepard's cabin. Instead he finds her standing in front of the memorial wall in her night clothes. He lays his hand on her shoulder, her skin cool to his touch as always

Hmm, I was able to infer it immediately, given that it starts with "He leaves the battery." Maybe if it was Main Battery, that would've been more of a tip off?
Shepard turned over the lithe Cerberus agent with her boot, gun ready, but the woman - for it was clearly female in that tight white and yellow uniform - didn't move

mild spoilers for NPCs and potential plot solutions in first act of ME3
"Wrex." Victus folded his hands in front of him and spoke tersely, raising his voice as the krogan across from him continued to sleep, despite the importance of this and every other meeting he'd slept through in the last month and a half. "Wrex." Mandibles flaring, he looked at the Alliance soldier stationed at the door. He attempted to communicate with a glance that the soldier should attempt to wake up the krogan, but the soldier was either very dumb and not getting the message, or very smart and pretending to not get the message.
"WREX."
Wrex startled awake. "What'd I miss?"
"Do you intend to sleep through these meetings, or...?"
"Forty six children, Victus. Forty. Six. You be responsible for forty six children and then tell me how many boring meetings you sleep through." Wrex held Victus's stare until Victus was forced to look away. Wrex grunted and smiled. "I like you, Adrien, but you put a man to sleep like an elcor reading nutrition facts," he flashed

Mordin had thought, she'd really really thought, that nobody would notice her sudden disappearance. Or, if they did notice, that they wouldn't put three and three together and find her at the shuttleport.
She should have known better. Her mother strode to meet her before she could snatch her supplies and try to disappear; she settled for snatching her supplies and holding them against her torso like a barricade instead. But Urdnot Bakara was not angry, just...thoughtful. Which was possibly worse.
"Your father will figure it out shortly, but probably not before the shuttle lifts. He'll understand, though your brothers may not." Her eyes crinkled in a smile under the shaman's veiling. "After all, you are our first daughter born free of the genophage-"
"-and I'm supposed to have some big responsibility. I know."
"You do. But not the one you think." Her mother's even response left Mordin scowling, still drawn up with the indignant response she hadn't quite finished. "After so long, yes, we want children. But I will not have

I had to do another because I love this prompt.
Contains spoilers for the ME3 ending and some messing around with the aftermath. The medical team files out, weary but satisfied. Their role is clear: preserve life, perform miracles. They have done so... ten times? Twelve? Garrus has lost count. Liara stands at the foot of the bed, hands over her mouth, eyes closed, still shaking. She doesn't spend enough time here to know how common it all is--the shrill beeping of the alarms, the flat line on the screens, the doctors and nurses running, pushing him aside, shoving tubes and needles into Shepard's lifeless body. Liara's role is clear, too: use the now-limited means of connecting with the outside galaxy to find Lawson. So far, she's had no luck
