Here at the end of another summer...

So...summer...

Work is over and that is sad, I have to say that working at Hayden Rec was one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever had. I would wake up each morning wanting to go to school. I really don't think that has ever happened before. I have been asked to come back next year as Drama Director, that will be awesome...nice raise...working doing something I love more than ever. Can't wait for that.

Went to NYC a few weeks ago, that was an adventure. We take the train down from Westwood to Penn Station, train travel is fun and it was a kind of lost transportation so I felt nostalgic. We get to New York and we go straight away to TKTS. While in line it becomes very dark and windy, and the sand from 7th Avenue starts blowing and hitting our legs. It then begins to rain, heavier than I think I have ever seen it. We were also without our umbrellas. After being targeted by umbrella salesmen and being soaked to our underwear, we get tickets to see *NSYNC's own Joey Fatone in Little Shop of Horrors. So we get back to the Radisson Lexington hotel, a fine establishment and we change and get ready for the show. I find that after being in my backpack for some time my shirt needs ironing, so I iron it. I then see that my money for the weekend is all wet so I iron it into nice crispy bills. Then I notice the tickets are wet so I start to iron them. *CAUTION* NEVER IRON TICKETS THEY WILL TURN BLACK. As this one did. After freaking out Amanda tells me that it will be okay. Turns out she was right (she's always right). We get to the Virginia Theatre and after the Box Office Manager laughed at us he writes something on the back and tells us it'll be okay. Turns out I had nothing to worry about, because all you have to do is stick another un-blackened ticket on top and the ticket rippers will never look. Good trip...

That's all for now, I have more updates but it can wait. Just ponder this though...why after all these years do I still get nervous about the first day of school?
