the up and up

things have been better lately:

I absolutely love my job at CCC....I've never experienced a job before where I can work multiple 12-hour days in a week and come home; still tired but never burned out or to the point where I don't want to go back the next day. So I'm hoping I've found my calling. Plus how many jobs let you work at your computer in the day, have important creative ideas meetings over mongolian bbq or chipotle, and then get to play guitar/bass/drums on stage at night. pretty cool if you ask me...

this week i helped cater a mediashout software training night with about 8000 pounds of panda express..played djimbe and forgot to take my ring off, and in the process bent it around my finger to where I couldn't get it off without some major pain....played bass this sunday, made 8000 copies of music and cd's for a france trip, and lost a lot of sleep.

A couple weekends ago, I went with Adam and Melissa to see Narnia at the Tivoli theatre, which is this really old theatre that only has one movie showing at a time, very old architecture, incredible sound, and all the employees are even dressed old school in the movie valet suits. And tickets are only 3 bucks. It was pretty cool. And Mr. Pibb + Red Vines = Crazy Delicious!!!

Last weekend, a few of us from small group got together at Missy's apt. Missy, her sister Jackie, Ann, Annie and Jason played some Taboo and just hung out while the snow drenched the city.

Sunday night, I watched the original 1980 Olympic hockey game between the U.S.A. and the U.S.S.R., the one that the movie Miracle was based on. It was pretty nuts, watching something so old. The thing that almost made me upset though was that these two teams were built up to be sworn enemies, but then you hear these game stories in-between intermissions about how they were playing videogames together the night before, and at one point, the U.S. goalie gave one of the Russian forwards a little "love tap" on the buttocks, as a way of saying either, "good effort", or "I want to raise babies with you." And I also found out the Russian goalie even autographed a picture of one of the U.S. guys scoring on him for crying out loud. You guys are supposed to hate each other! They're commies, remember? C'mon!

Also watched a short documentary on Travis Roy, the Boston U. hockey player that was paralyzed eleven seconds into his first college game. One of the saddest stories I've ever heard. I've also read his book "Eleven Seconds" and I recommend it to anybody that needs things put in perspective on how awesome you have it. It definitely kicked my butt.

That's all I got for now.
