Well, I am quite pleased to report that a few things have changed for the better since my last entry, oh, five hours ago.

Firstly, I called the Dell people about my charger. Seriously - if you want to buy a laptop, don't go with Dell. Their phone help people are either incompetent or downright rude, in addition to their shoddy products. (One even hung up on me after snidely telling me that they don't give out free chargers.) It took two hours of arguing and being rerouted through their empire of evil before I got put through to an angelic man who sent in the order for my replacement charger. Bless him. It should be arriving either Wednesday or Thursday. In the meantime....

....I have Internet on my desktop, secondly and thank God. I got in touch with the Internet people and they helped me fix whatever blunder it was my dad made. So, while I'm working from the kitchen and it's a little awkward to have my mother hanging over my shoulder every few minutes, I have internet. Which means my work will go on.

Most importantly, it means I can get back in touch with my significant other. Which makes both of us happy.

As for the phone issue, that's going to take a little more time to fix. It's up to my dad's whims, sadly. And while I'll miss the constant contact that I keep up with my sweetie during the day, it's something that we're going to have to bear. On the bright side - it'll only be a matter of days until I'm ensconced once more in the privacy of my room. And until then, I'll be content with this.

Nothing is sweeter after a period of isolation than to be reintroduced to the world.
