QOTD: Why can't a Starbucks low-fat bran muffin taste as good as the full fat blueberry one?
We are officially back to a two car family! Woo!!! It was so nice to be able to work as late as I wanted to last night and not be constantly looking at the clock to see what time I had to leave to go and pick up Todd. Went home last night and made dinner - ceasar salad and penne paste with shrimp, sun dried tomatoes, and spinach. Yummy, enjoying the leftovers for lunch right now.
I talked to my sister last night and Ethan is doing so well - he is starting to get chubby cheeks and doing really great gaining weight. She is tired but not too bad all, the baby is sleeping in pretty consistent 3-4 hour stretches which is apparently really good for a 6-7 week old baby. She said he is starting smile and I can't wait to see him at the end of this month. She was telling me "it's not as bad as everyone tells you it is" - hmm, we'll see. We were also talking about leaving the baby and she is really good about that. She said that as long as she is leaving him with someone that she knows will take great care of him (our mom, her husband's family, etc.) she doesn't mind to leave him at all and she actually enjoys going places without him. That sounds good to me and is reassuring...
We have been trying to find another investment property to buy but it's been difficult. We might buy one of Todd's co-worker's townhouses so we were doing a lot of research about the neighborhood and comparable sale listings last night. It would be sweet if it worked out and awesome to avoid the bidding war madness but they might want too much $$$ for it. I need to call our mortgage broker today and have him run some numbers.
After all of the research last night we were going to go to bed but I wasn't sleepy for some reason so I started watching 'Along Came Polly'. Todd was asleep but then this part came on about "sharting" (attempting to fart but actually shitting) and I started dying laughing. I was trying not to wake him up but I am so juvenile that I couldn't control myself and woke him up. He was dying also and we ended up staying up to watch the whole movie. Mindless entertainment. Then we were laying in bed and being stupid and laughing at all kinds of poop stories. We are morons. We even started the movie again (On Demand) and fast forwarded to the "sharting" part and watched it like 3 times and I was dying all 3 times. Just now Todd sent me this e-mail entitled "Shart" -
"Just avoided a major shart. After my cheese and nuts for snack, almost sharted in team meeting.
Watch your back, I almost sharted."
And, I am still laughing. Clearly, we need to grow up before we procreate.
It is snowing like crazy in Baltimore today. (I think it is hell freezing over because W got re-elected.) I am supposed to meet Todd at a tapas place for a quick bite before 'Hotel Rwanda' tonight but now I don't know if that is happening.
We said a few months ago that we wanted to start doing more stuff during the week (not just on weekends) but we may have taken it too far lately. Tonight is tapas and 'Hotel Rwanda', Todd's aunt and her husband are coming over for dinner tomorrow (they live in our neighborhood), Friday night is Pizza/Beer/Couples Poker Night, Saturday during the day we are helping some friends put hardwood in their basement and that night we are having drinks/dinner with a different group of friends, and Sunday we are going to a football playoffs party.
Is it Spring yet? I hate the cold weather.
