Can we get a break please?
It's 11:22 on Saturday night and I have had 1 hour worth of sleep since Thursday night. Todd is back in the hospital and had to have surgery to remove his appendix this afternoon. Seriously, I want to shake the person who in charge of the cosmic universe and kick his/her fucking ass - we CANNOT take any more shit thankyouverymuch.
In the interest of finally getting some zzz's here's the e-mail that I just sent to family and friends...
Subject: Update on Todd's surgery - it's deja vu all over again...
Everyone,
Yes, you read the title correctly - Todd is once again in the hospital and has again had to have surgery. Apparently Mr. Drama Queen missed all of the wonderful cards, flowers, and food deliveries that his last surgery produced...totally kidding. He had to have his appendix removed today due to an infection. He is resting comfortably at Howard County General and is very, very much hoping to come home tomorrow or Monday and not see the inside of another hospital room for a very long time. After some initial scrambling about how to work around his spinal cord issues, the appendectomy proceeded without a hitch and his neck is continuing to heal as well. He is already getting up a bit and walking around, so we are very relieved.
Here's our public service announcement of the day - If you have severe abdominal pain that hits you suddenly, proceed directly to the Emergency Room and get it checked out in short order. Even though we went to the hospital quickly after his pain began, his appendix was still close to rupturing and that is not a good situation. We are feeling very fortunate that it was caught and dealt with accordingly.
We are doing well and thanks again for your continued support. What a crazy, crazy last month it has been...
