Wow, you guys are so amazing. Todd and I got the most fabulous present from you all this weekend - a ton of gourmet meals that just have to be re-heated! I don't even know what to say other than thank you all so very much. Truly, we were blown away by how thoughtful and generous you all are. I started crying when I was reading the message. I would love to know who contributed to this so that I can send you all a thank you card - could someone please let me know either here on send me an e-mail at mdsusanatyahoodotcom? I want to let you all know how much we have appreciated all of your support through these difficult last couple of weeks - all of your posts here are wonderful to read and the meals that you sent are phenomenal. Thank you all SO very much.
Todd update - He is doing a ton better and we are so happy about that! The only lingering problem is that he still cannot sleep which means I am not sleeping either. He has a hard time because he has to sleep on his back, propped up in a sitting position, with a neck brace on. Yikes, I don't think I could sleep that way either. Except for the sleep thing, he is doing wonderfully. He is done with the walker and is now using a cane (but I really think he could do without the cane now). He was feeling so much better on Friday that we both started to get stir crazy from being inside the house for so long so we started venturing out into the outside world (thank God). On Friday we started our Christmas and Hanukkah shopping, saw a movie, and went out for pizza. Ah, simple joys. Saturday was more shopping, dinner with some new friends, and another movie. We spent Sunday with his cousin and their kids at their house watching football and catching up with them.
I am so freaking proud of him how well he is doing - it will only be 2 weeks since his surgery tomorrow! I even came into work today and I am sooooooo happy to have some people interaction even though I was like a nervous mom this morning leaving him at home. I am going to go home a couple of hours early today but it is still so great that I could come in today.
I wanted to thank you all again for your support. It is truly amazing how many phone calls (thanks Kathy!), cards, and visits that we have gotten since his surgery. We feel so blessed and loved by so many people. We definitely have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
