Thank you guys sooo much for all of the info! I took the plunge and booked the trip. I hope he doesn't kill me.
I booked the flights, Hotel Adagio (fabulous rate of $127 for a Junior Suite!!!), and I am looking at the Four Daughter's properties in Napa/Sonoma. Those bastards have a Winter Special of pay for one night get one free but they are trying to claim December 29-30 as a "holiday". The owner said he might be able to give me the deal but isn't sure, so I am going to look around a bit more just in case. Any more winery suggestions? I am getting really excited!
Question - I was thinking that we won't rent a car for the nights we are in SF - right? We will be in SF arriving on the 26th for 3 nights. I thought that we could take a cab to the airport to rent a car on the morning of the 29th, drive up to Sonoma/Napa and stay there for 2 nights, and then drive the car and us back to the airport for our 12:30 a.m. flight on the 31st. Does this sound workable or is there a better solution?
