And now.........................
Okay, so it didn't start off good. One day last week my mom had a bitch-fit (BF) because of my lack of job and/or focus in life. She basically said I was going to amount to nothing. I overheard this while I was putting away the dishes.
Then later that day, I got a call from the Head Supervisor (Think Head Teacher) of my alma mater, Hillside Bethel Christian School.
Recently, two of the teachers had to quit to take over running a nearby restaurant that one of the teacher's husband ran. He used to work at Firestone here in town, but that shut down about 5 years ago. Then he got an offer to work at the firestone up in bloomington-normal, about an hour or so away. It was an offer he couldn't refuse, so the wife and her son, the teachers, left to run the restaurant.
So that's what caused the Yeakel (my nickname for Mrs. Yeakel) to call me. She needed a monitor in a bad way and immediately thought of me. I had written a letter to her at the beginning of the school year expressing my wanting to work there as a monitor even it was part time. And I explained how I was almost nothing like I was when I graduated: rebellious, extremely sarcastic (almost to the point of hurtful), and several other non-christian traits. And how I was now involved in my church more often. (I'm there every bloody sunday, running sound. Doesn't mean I listen to the sermons...well, not whole-heartedly.) And after that nothing remark that morning, I was like "Thank you Higher Power-Man!" Nick-of-time, much?
So yesterday, I went to Hillside for an interview with the Yeakel and Pastor and Mrs. Horath. Mrs. Horath is the principal of the school. But we talked, well, they did most of the talking, about my job as monitor and what it would entail. I get minimum wage, but at 6.50 an hour from 8:45ish to 3:15, monday through friday, that's nothing to sneeze at. I get to hang out with my old friends on breaks and do what I used to do when I'd get done with my work when I was still in school. So basically I was one of the perfect people for the job. I already had training, was very familiar with the curriculum, and was familiar with most of the students (minus a dozen new ones that came after I graduated). And it seemed that it was a pattern. Once you graduate from Hillside, sooner or later you go back to work there, whether it be on the paying staff or volunteering.
So, in all my long-windedness, I GOT AN EFFIN' JOB!!!! ::does snoopy dance:: Which hopefully means I get to be online more often and for longer than 2 hours a night.
::SQUEALS, HUGS ALL::
Thanks for all your good thoughts and hoping for me to get a job! They worked!!!
