For all the video games we have and Prax's infatuation with everything Karaoke (we have 8 different games), I am addicted to Guitar Hero. We had 1 and 2 for Playstation2 and I have beat every song in the games on easy and medium and I'm working through Hard. I have to admit I don't know how these kids can play through the expert level like they are playing tiddlywinks. The game play is very simple, you have your guitar controller with 5 colored buttons on the fingerboard, a strum key and a whammy bar on the body of the guitar. As colored notes come down the screen at you press the corresponding buttons and flick the strum key, the whammy bar can be wiggled for bonus scores. Once you have the mechanics down you are deceived into a false sense that this game is easy and easy it is, go up in skill level and more combinations are added and the notes come at you faster and faster.
I have always wanted to play the guitar for real and this is as close as I will probably get. All of you out there that have the guitar skill, I salute you.
My bro came over last night and gave me a copy of Guitar Hero Encore: Rock the 80's. All I can say is "Whoo Freakin Hoo!!!!" If I had paid for it I'd be pissed as it should have been called Guitar Hero 2: The Expansion but it's more songs so more fun. I beat it today on easy and medium already. Like I said, I'm addicted.
Today I got a special version of Guitar Hero 2 for the PS 2. It has all of the XBox 360 songs on it. When they released the game for the 360 they added a few songs then a month later added downloadable content. Well, in the copy for the PS 2 I just got, it has all of the 360 exclusives.
If your looking for me, I'm taking the day off to play Guitar Hero.
