Games news
I've been getting press again. As I said in an earlier post I have had mini games published in magazines. Reviews of several of my current games have appeared in several magazines world wide over the past ten years. Knucklebones has done an article or two and an Italian game magazine not only did a write up on two games but also did an interview with me.
Pirate Waters has been reviewed by two magazines and I was contacted by another today about obtaining an evaluation copy. I feel it's a great game, yes it does jump on the band wagon, but it uses the theme as part of the game. It's not a game with the theme slapped on top of it. Everyone who has seen it has said the game looks great, the components are good and the game play is fun and works well. Yay me!!! There is a pic of it here.
In other news we moved our first 100 decks of Joust! This thrills me because I have not publicized this game at all. We have even had folks who have bought it request expansion packs and decks already. Because of Joust! taking off I was able to finish Home Brew. I have meetings arranged with both DuClaws and Capital City about customizing the decks and them selling them through their outlets. This is as big time as it gets for me. I've had games sold in hobby gaming shops before and there was the entire Walmart fiasco (I'll be damned if I'm taking a loss just so you can be guaranteed the lowest possible retail price), but this is a retailer that is outside of the typical game community so I'm hopeful.
I have the finished Recipe Cards for Home Brew right now and I think they look great. The playtesting on the game went well and feedback was mostly positive. So it is also available on the website and we should be able to start shipping them out at the end of the week.
