This is my 900th post! Woo-hoo!
I think I finally got my sleeping schedule back on some kind of normal thing. I've been staying up until 4-5 a.m. and sleeping until 2:30 p.m. It's like living in Alaska -- sort of. I haven't been seeing much sunlight. However, I had an appointment to speak with this woman at Todays Staffing at 9 a.m., so I knew I needed to get to sleep in some kind of normal pattern last night. So, I read about 150 pages of "Goblet of Fire" and I turned off my light at 12:19 a.m. I was awake by 5:00 this morning and read some more and then got ready. I had to stop by Kinko's to get my resume printed off. I love having that little memory stick. It's a good thing. :)
The appointment/interview with Trish went well. I always feel like I can come off better in person than on paper. That might just be my lack of confidence. I always think I sound really blah on my resume, but I've had people tell me it was a good one. Who knows? We talked for about 30-45 minutes including paperwork filling out. She asked me a lot of questions about team building which I thought was strange. Trish told me about a job for this agricultural company (I think that's very funny) that she thought I would be good at doing. It would involve a lot of spreadsheet work and following up with people. I don't know, we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
When I got home, I got a call from this woman telling me this company wants to interview me next week for a position I would be great at -- in my humble opinion. I don't want to say the name of the company just yet, but it could be very exciting. The job is in Bloomington/Normal and the pay is somewhere between
$36,000-40,000. All right, praying people...please pray for these situations. I just want to be in the place where God can use me effectively, and more importantly, I want to be in a place where I can find a niche to do ministry within the Church -- probably the Normal Vineyard, but I don't know for sure.
Well, that's the update for now. So, be praying friends, or send good thoughts, or whatever it is you do. Thanks, so much! Have a great day!
In other news...my will power was tested to the Nth degree when I had to put back the copy of "Return of the King" EE I had held up to my chest. When I told my mom about it she was like, "you should've bought it and I would've given you the money and we would have just considered that part of your Christmas!" Oh well, it'll just be that much sweeter on Christmas morn...although, the sweetest thing has all ready been given -- Christ the Lord. (Sorry for that sounding being sentimentally cheesy, but I had some conviction about being all overjoyed by just some thing when it's not about the stuff I get.)
