Gah! Another hurricane is heading toward the Texas coast. The last one I went through was in 2005 when Hurricane Rita struck. We were lucky then as we ended up on the clean side of the storm, but that doesn't look like it's the case for this storm. The forecasters expect that we should have 80 mph hurricane force wind in my area. It's a hell of a lot more than what occured during Rita, but this time the hurricane is so huge -- covering most of the Texas coast -- no matter where it lands, you're gonna feel it. I'm definitely worried, more so for my three dogs than for me. Well, I am a little worried as my father has decided not to board up the windows and mine is directly in front of a huge tree. Of course not just the wind is a concern but the rain as well. Any type of flooding is a cause for concern. My area does tend to flood when extended rainfall is introduced. One good thing in our favor is that we've had a bit of a drought, so the ground is dry and can probably take a good amount of rain before saturation kicks in -- hopefully the storm moves quickly out of our area. I get the feeling power is going to get knocked out, so I won't be updating till Monday at the earliest, unless something were to happen. Godwilling nothing will. I'll come back soon!
