A few weeks ago I got involved within a study called "The Truth Project." In essence, it is a Bible Study that asks all of the right questions to get a person thinking. Now, I know what you're thinking... "Matt is in a Bible Study, he's changed forever." Relax guys, I'm still the same bastard that I was before, the only change being that I am also a Christian. More like... someone finally guided me in the right direction towards salvation and...truth.
But, what is Truth? What defines the defination of "truth?" Is it what we believe is true? Is it the bible, Jesus' word from God, that is all that is good and, as it is said, true? Better yet, does truth actually exist in today's society, or we all living one massive lie? These are the kinds of questions that the Truth Project asks, and these questions are the topic of today's article. I am not going to go at this from a biblical perspective, merely a common knowledge, some religious background, and just common sense perspective.
So I want you to imagine real quick that there was no bad in the world. All bad stuff has now disappeared. No more sin from humans. Yes, to my guy readers, this includes the disappearance of pornography also. Go cry about it, but that is considered sin, thus it has disappeared. The world would be, in a sense, booring to us, right? The point: we are sinners by human nature. Why is this? BECAUSE SIN IS EXCITING! Don't even bother trying to go about and make it sound like you never sin. We all do. Ever curse? It's a sin... ever have sex with someone you're not married to? Sin... ever hurt someone? Sin. My point: we have all sinned throughout our entire lives. Which leaves the question: is the truth of our world really real?
Cameron, the guy who got me into the truth project series, has many snippets of scripture hanging up in his room. He has one question in big text that always is in my head. "Do you really believe that what you believe is really real?" It's a confusing question. Read it over a couple of times and you'll probably get the implications of it. In essence, is our "truth" really the "truth" or are we involved in the everlasting cosmic battle of "Truth vs. Lie." We are all sinnical by nature. We are, it is this so-called "human nature" that we are supposed to obey. In essence, it is the main flaw in our lives.
Are we living a lie by believing that we are doing good and that we are not sinning constantly? Yes, I believe we are. This is a profound statement, but if you look at what the Truth is, you'll realize this.
I know that this is a short article. My religious and biblical knowledge is shortcoming also, but it is slowly growing and ever expanding. Plus, I have a lot of homework to get done. The fact is: we are living a lie, and I'm now trying to follow life by the truth. Shouldn't you do the same?
