TFcon pics

Jul 17, 2014 22:20

I can't believe how busy this week has been.  It's taken me so long to get my pics organized, cropped and posted.
Well, part of my problem was I accidentally deleted all of my pictures from my laptop.
I didn't lose anything (I think) because I have some kind of a secondary library hidden on the laptop's C drive.
Plus, I do have a backup on an external hard drive.
But, I had to find that hidden library and copy everything back up to my primary document library.
Unfortunately, where the folder I deleted used to be called My Pictures, it is now called 1LiveJournal Pics C: .  >:(
I can't seem to change the name.
And, some of the folders are mixed up into the wrong main folder.  What a pain in the aft.

I didn't take as many pics as usual.  And, for some reason, I was the Queen of Blurry Pictures this year.
Anywho -
here we go.
My very nice hotel room before I threw my stuff all over the place and messed it up.

I really don't like king beds because they are so huge, but, I wanted the little couch and table so I could eat my meals.
The bed was too squishy for me - I believe it was a foam mattress.
I slept like crap-ola Friday night, tossing and turning and waking up almost every hour.
That might have just been the excitement and strange sounds, who knows.
On Saturday, I took a Benedryl and slept the whole night through.

Costumes!  I luves dem!
I have such admiration for people who can be imaginative and dress as a character, be it humanized or foam and cardboard.

I know Drift is on the right, but I'm not sure who the other two are supposed to be.
I have seen the femme somewhere, maybe a comic, but I don't follow the comics, at all.

This pretty lady Starscream posed for me.  She was quite the awesome.

All the following pics are from the costume contest.
Here we have OP, Crosshairs, Perceptor, Starscream and baby Star, Bee and OP.

Pharma.  I believe that is another comic character.  I know nothing about him except I think Ratchet now has his hands. *eww*

Awesomesauce Prowl with real blinking police lights.  He won the contest.
And, I saw him without his head [!] and he was pretty cute.  Nice aft.

Shockwave, Knockout and Soundwave.

The same Soundwave from above and a second Shockwave.
Gosh, how do they move in some of those massive costumes?

Some entries from the Custom art contests.  I don't know who won anything.
This is OP's blaster.  I heard some guys talking and they said that it took 3 years to complete.   WOW.
What do you do with something like that after the contest?  I guess it could go on the coffee table.

Powered by the mini-Allspark cube on the right.
The pic doesn't do it justice.  It was absolutely spectacular.

Notice the Lego Perceptor head on the right.  Cute.

Some different Seekers, with a vehicon on the left.

These were custom figures from the dealer room.  Many of then were huge, and a couple were entered in the art contest.
I don't really get the custom figure mania, I like recognizable characters.
These were big, and I'm sure they were expensive.
But, if you want to see what else they had, here's their site -

Sue Blu was unable to attend because she broke her foot, but she did participate in the Q&A session via Skype.
She is very funny, and promised to be there next year.  Which would be nice, as I have a comic I need signed.

I was really looking forward to seeing the Cybertronic Spree band on Saturday night.
Their web site -

This is the best pic I had - from left to right -
Arcee, Soundwave, Spike (Where are his big, yellow boots? Without them, he just looks like the Construction guy from the Village People), Hot Rod, Rumble, Unicron, and a Quintesson.
I really enjoyed them.  All that was missing was a Jack & coke and cigarette smoke.  hahaha.

I didn't bother to record a video, as the sound was less than optimal.  You can listen to one of their songs here.

Being there listening to the band really made me nostalgic for my younger days, when my friend and I used to follow a certain local band everywhere.  We'd be in a bar every Fri & Sat night.  It made me kind of sad.
Ah, those were the good, old days....

LOOT!

I was surprised that the guests were charging $20 for autographs this year.
I bit the bullet and bought two from Gregg Berger, because I really wanted my old comic and Grim toy signed.
I circled Gregg's sig in red.  The purple circle is Dick Gautier (Hot Rod) from last year's TFcon.

I love the Heroes of Cybertron figures.  These were just about the only ones I could find, when last year they were all over the place.
They are all duplicates for me, except Cyclonus.  Can't have too many Seekers hanging around, ya know.

Bling!
I was really taken with this jewelry from a certain table.
Sunstreaker bracelet, a pair of lambo keychains, and a Starscream necklace.
I didn't care for the drama mask charm on the Sideswipe bracelet, so I think I'm gonna commission one with something different.
Can't have one twin without the other.

For some reason, I seemed to buy mostly OP stuff.
Money was burning a hole in my purse for a black TFA OP, but no one in the whole joint had one.
I knew I should have bought him 3 years ago, staggit.
And, tiny Starscream decided that he had the best spot in the house. He was made of...hmm...wool thread, I think.
Adorkable.

TC was a last minute, impulse buy on Sunday morning as I was leaving.  He was really cheap.
And, I stopped at the Duty Free Shop by the Peace Bridge for my traditional candy purchases.
I was disappointed that they didn't have my Aero bars, but those Flake bars taste just like them.
I love Coffee Crisp, even though I don't drink coffee, and, I felt like trying the white chocolate.
I haven't eaten everything...yet.

Is it pathetic that I buy candy and not booze from duty free?

And, there you have it.
I'm ready for next year!
