I happened to see a makeshift tribute at Seger Park this afternoon as I was walking to the subway, and didn't make the connection until now.

I can't think of Phillies games without hearing the voice of Harry Kalas. He is a true icon, irreplaceable. He will be very much missed.

It is akin to losing a grandfather for me. Harry and Whitey WERE Phillies baseball. When Whitey died, that hurt like hell; now that Harry is gone as well I feel more numb than anything. Childhood's end.
