Is it still Christmas?
How is everyone? Christmas this year turned out really nice. I didn't have much time off, but I got into town the night of the 23rd, and was able to stay until the morning after. Rosemary and I spent Christmas Eve mostly at home while she finished cooking. We had her parents over for dinner and then went to church. We did Christmas with both our families, which is a very nice thing to do.
I got Rosemary a Nintendo DS. This was big since she never asks for any toys. She kept talking about it so much that I had to shut her up, and I hid the present in a comforter set I also got her. I go ther the precious "Nintendogs" and "Brain Age 2." She is totally addicted to "Nintendogs." My brother got her "New Super Mario Bros.," which is quite amazing. The DS is a kickin' little machine, so much that I'd consider getting myself one sometime. Maybe for when Rosemary and I move in together and we can play against each other on wireless :)
Rosemary got me "Iron Man" and "Be Kind Rewind" on Blu-ray, as well as the Phillies World Series documentary (narrated by a soulful Terrence Howard) and the video yearbook with Brad Lidge screaming all over the cover. She also made me a calendar with my photos. Rosemary's parents got me a $50 gift card to Kohl's. (My word, do they know how much stuff I can buy there with $50?!?) My parents gave me cash, which never goes out of style, and my brother and our ladies got them a gift card to Lowe's since they're planning the big move.
So my Christmas season ends on a good note, full of goodies, from the Blu-ray player and laptop to a new suit and toys, to eating every cookie and pie in sight. I'll reward all this eating with many trips to the gym. The best part was getting some extra time with Rosemary, even when she was ignoring me and tending to her Nintendo puppies.
I also made ricotta cheese cookies and took them around the job. Apparently, a single man who bakes is sexier than I thought. I must bake more.
Now I'm back in Connecticut, having to drive back the morning after Christmas. I am off Sunday, so maybe I'll catch a movie or I'll stay home and play with my new toys. And sleep. But I will be back in Philly for a three-day weekend, with Sex Dwarf and a Jukebox Zeros show on the docket.
