Almost packed! Again I'm on the road, this time back to Philadelphia for Halloween. Driving back tonight after work.
Rosemary and I are going as American Gladiators this year - she as Hellga, and I as an old-school Gladiator. My costume is in good shape, but I may go looking for a headband and some '80s-hair wig to really top it off.
First we'll hit trick-or-treat at Rosemary's parents' house, then
abinka's "Twin Peaks" party (should I learn to talk backawards?). And we finish the night with the Henri David Ball. We last went four years ago, and oh the madness of dress and undress that we saw: Gov. Ed Rendell posing for photos with two buff gay dudes dresed as Mercury and a black leather-fringed cowboy; a Lady Godiva in pasties; drag queens galore; a marionette with a giant papier-mache puppet master; superheroes and Catwomen.
With the way the city's rolling these days, maybe there will be some Phillies costumes this year. I'll be taking tons of photos, if I can think of some way to carry around my camera - a wrestling singlet has no pockets. Otherwise I think Rosemary and I are going to wrestle people all night. Oh yeah.
All I need now is for the Phillies to win tonight so I can see the parade!
