Happy Halloween everybody :)
Not much scary stuff going on today, but at work today we're having a day-long "open house" to show off the department and our new production office. I have no costume today, but maybe I'll dress a little odd today.
And now it's the end of October. Which has implications for the first full beard I've grown in 1 1/2 years. Here's a shot of it and the new sweater I got at Macy's in New York last Thursday:
The beard began as many things do: over beer with friends.
We'd made a pact to grow our beards after discussing how having a beard of mustache used to be the de rigeur standard of manliness. Then the '90s came and it wasn't cool anymore. (Well, at least in the mainstream. I've found that among black men it's rarer to be clean shaven.) I took them up on their encouragement to switch up from the jawline chin strap.
But we'd joked that Beard October would give way to Mustache November, and now here we are. But I really am starting to like my beard now, as it's grown in nice and thick. I think I'll keep it.
