Does anyone else think this "Beowulf" movie looks like SHIT?!? The special effects look cheesy as all hell, which is shocking for a Robert Zemeckis movie. Plus it's odd to see Ray Winstone all buffed out.
Why is Grendel's mom played by Angelina Jolie? I don't get it; I don't remember Grendel's mom being crazy, hot, and divorced from Billy Bob Thornton.
I think I'd rather see the non-big-budget one, "Beowulf: Prince of the Geats." Yeah, that'll sell tickets.

I am in love with "Pushing Daisies." Morbid, funny, storybook-like and touching. Like the pies the lead character makes, it re-animates dead whodunit plots into something filled with delightful warmth and sweetness. The show could be too cute for its own good, but so far it's fun to watch. Probably because the acting is wonderful, even if poor little Kristin Chenoweth has to play so broad.

Looking forward to "The Office" tomorrow and its return to half-hour shows. The hour-long ones have been dragging the show down in too many gags and things that aren't really jokes or funny. But some very good ideas so far this year; with the Pam-Jim saga over, we now have the crazy love triangles of Dwight/Andy/Angela and Kelly/Darryl/Ryan. I'm hoping that pull the reins on Jan soon, stop building up Ryan (sorry, B.J. Novak, you're not that funny or that good an actor). Also, continue to give me more of the minor characters: Kevin, always more Creed, and I wonder if this year we'll get a peek into the lives of Phyllis and Bob Vance. (Side note: I have loved watching Phyllis' war to assert herself against bully Angela.)
