Smoke-free

Edited: So I hear Philly's city council has approved a smoking ban.

After all the years of having to suffer through cigarette smoke I didn't want so that I can have a beer, this would be nice. It would be nice not to smell like total shit when I see a show, too.

For those who say this is an infringement of rights ... Smoking isn't exactly a right. Sorry. People shouldn't lose their jobs because they smoke; that is an injustice. However, if you have higher medical insurance rates and get lung cancer, that's no injustice. I buried one of my favorite uncles two years ago at freakin' 48 years old because his Kools-by-the-carton self lived as such.

And given how unhealthy it is, it likely is a health matter. I bet I could breathe easier when I run if I hadn't grown up around secondhand smokers, but oh well.

As much as I've disliked my time in Connecticut, I've liked going to bars and not coming home smelling like an ashtray.

I wouldn't mind going out and rocking out in Philly, smoke-free. Oh my lord, how the hipsters will suffer. Sex Dwarf, smoke-free. I can't imagine it.

Likely this thing will die at the mayor's office. I don't see the implementation being any good.
